Electrical work tips, tricks and advice

Electrical DIY really is not a job for a Sunday afternoon. Or any time of the day. Or any day. Whilst we can all muster up some painting skills, hang a door or complete an IKEA wardrobe conundrum, electrical DIY should be left to the professional, registered electrician.

Electricity can kill. It is as simple as that. You may not electrocute yourself doing the job, however, over time that botched job can start an electrical fire.

Electricity is a major cause of accidental fires in UK homes, with over 20,000 each year.

There are dozens of DIY “how to videos” you could use online. Some homemade electrical DIY videos have caused us concern as they have been done by the non-professional with extremely bad advice. We know people will continue to do electrical DIY and not call an electrician. With your safety in mind, Green Door Electrical have decided to raise a monthly video on electrical basics, tips and tricks.

Our first one, out next month, will be about how to change a plug socket. As you can tell, this is simple electrical advice and will continue along this theme.

This is also where we would like your help. If there is any simple electrical repair, installation etc you would like help with, please drop us an email to info@greendoorelectrical.co.uk or visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/greendoorelectrical and leave us a message.
